Rosalia
Rosalia Vila (aka Rosalia) is a Spanish flamenco and pop singer. Her work has led to her being a part of popular and traditional music since she was a teenager, she is a part of other music genres, such as hip-hop soul and trap. Her voice has been described by no less a talented flamenco guitar player Pepe Habichuela as crystal clear and smooth, yet that has a smoky tinge like old versions. After her 2017 debut album Los Angeles garnered attention from the U.S. public and earned the singer an Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and her follow-up album in 2018. El Mal Querer was a important commercial and critical breakthrough leading the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart and finally earning the Grammy. La Fama, featuring The Weeknd and The Weeknd, came out in 2021. Motomami was her third studio album included songwriting collaborations with Cory Henry, James Blake as well as other musicians. The release came in March 2022, following the performance of the single Chicken Teriyaki on Saturday Night Live. Rosalia did her solo show for the first time on Saturday Night Live. Motomami, Rosalia's album that earned her three Latin Grammy Awards also made Rosalia the first female artist to win winning the Latin Album of the Year be awarded twice.
